I have taken the ACT twice and had composite scores of 33 and 32, however, in both of them my math score was the lowest. In the one where I had a 33, it was the lowest by 4 points (W: 34 M:29 R:33 S:36).
Now, I am in what my school calls an “accelerated” math program and had to test into it in the 6th grade. I am basically a year ahead in math, in a class with a lot of people in the grade above me and fellow juniors who have been in advanced math since middle school. I truly believe math is my best subject.
I could have certainly earned a point or two in either of my tests if I had done better in math, which in my academic career has been my best subject. I am pretty sure my issue is that there are a lot of specific concepts I haven’t touched in years. Has anyone else had this problem? I don’t think I need prep and my counselor actually advised against it. I am worried colleges will see my 29 and sort of devalue the level of my math courses.
I have the SAT soon and I guess I will try to review some older concepts, but I am fearing the worst
