Our school doesn’t weigh honors or rank; we can’t take APs until our junior year.</p>

<p>SAT I: 2260 (740 Critical Reading, 720 Math, 800 Writing)
SAT IIs: 760 Math IIC, 760 US History, 800 Korean, 800 Literature
AP Tests: 5 AP US History, 4 AP Bio, 4 AP Statistics
No ACTs.</p>

<p>Extras:

  • Work experience; waiter at family restaurant for two years. 20 hours a week. This is the main essay topic.
  • Sports Editor of the school newspaper.
  • Speech and Debate Team; varsity letter.
  • National Merit Semifinalist, 226 PSAT
  • 3 Years of Clarinet
  • Tutored Jr. High kids
  • Worked as a freelance Korean-English Translator
  • Interned at Seoul Broadcasting System; Fantastic rec letter from their president/CEO
  • Interned at Orange County Register
  • National Young Leaders Conference 11/2005
  • JHU AP English Language Course; finished with an A. </p>

<p>Essays:
Decent. I’m an Asian immigrant trying to be an author… so I wrote about that. This is actually where my apps are centered around. </p>

<p>Recs:
Pretty good. </p>

<p>What do you guys think? Will I get in anywhere? The school list is really long, but I’d appreciate it if you guys could help me out. Thanks!</p>

<p>you’ll get into most of these schools… trust me… since you want to become a writer, i would suggest you do really well on the essay and you should be fine… </p>

<p>PS. Was the SATII Us History difficult???</p>

<p>Wow! I can’t believe you can afford to apply to all of those colleges!!! I was struggling to pay for a handful but you’re applying to like 20! haha</p>

so if they like ur essays ur in…
as for the others…well i think ull get into most

and i don’t mean to sound racist, but I’m sure being Korean will help you get into CMU(sorry, i live near the campus, I only call them as i see them)

<p>You have a pretty good chance! Your stats are awesome and you’re very well rounded, but I’m no pro at this. Also, Ivies are always a chance. So, I wish you good luck! Also, I wish for your feedback too!</p>

<p>You’re in at the UC’s, NYU, USC (they love NMS), Tufts, Boston College, Emory, and CM. The IVY league is a different game, you should get into Cornell and the rest of the Ivy’s is going to be too hard to call. </p>

<p>If you want to be a writer, Yale is the place to go. Did you consider Pomona College, and Kenyon College?</p>
