I have begun to experience a strange issue when making phone calls. If I get an answering machine, I now start yawning right as the beep begins. Why would this have started, and how do I stop it? I don’t want to begin my messages with a long pause or garbled words. I am puzzled, since I have never had anxiety about speaking on the phone or talking to strangers, and certainly feel perfectly comfortable calling friends. Since I am almost exclusively making personal calls, it’s not as though what I have to say will be unpleasant or bring on a negative response, so there is no fear I am aware of. Help!
I don’t know if it actually works, but there’s that snapping of the rubber band on the wrist trick for negative reinforcement. Cheap and easy so might be worth trying.
Or electric shock therapy. Take your pick.
