<p>I’m a Northfield townie and went to the open house for the Weitz Center for Creativity this afternoon. The Weitz was last used as Northfield’s Middle School. Prior to that, it was the high school.</p>
<p>Carleton should be very proud to have such a fine facility-- and what a great way to reuse a building. I especially appreciated how the auditorium had been reworked into a multipurpose 250 seat theater and a separate 250 seat cinema. The old wood shop was reworked into a very impressive “Idealab” outfitted with the most Apple equipment I’ve ever seen in one place.</p>
<p>I also appreciated the thoughtfulness of the Carleton community to invite townies to see what was done with their old school. I walked behind a group of retired school teachers who were marveling and pointing out which classroom was whose…</p>
