^^^FauxNom, if you have an indoor pool, and I win the lottery, I’ll buy. I absolutely love the Pacific Northwest and I am praying my son will settle there so I’ll have an excuse to move there.

Good luck, FauxNom!!

BTW, we put our house on the market last week. First we had a huge problem - and I mean huge. Can’t go into it, but let’s just say it was not conducive to a successful week.

Now that problem is taken care of. A family was viewing the house when their agent switched on the lights in a room, and the lightbulb exploded. Glass shards all over the room. Seems some *%^!$ idiot (ahem, okay, . . . . me) put in a bulb with double the recommended wattage.

I can just see it now: we’re going to be in the book of world records for house on the market the longest number of days in American history.

FauxNom, good luck! I see more “sale pending” signs even in my remote neck of the woods, so things do sell around here.

Yay, dstark!

Good luck to all with sales, purchases, and moves pending!

hayden, there are still some houses on the market here that were on the market when I was house hunting three years ago! amazingly, their prices haven’t been adjusted at all!

Thanks for the well wishes, and good luck to everybody…

fendergirl, that’s amazing. I think if it got that long, I would just take it off the market. As it is, we got 3 agents to give us pricing guidance, then we took the lowest estimate, and reduced it by about 5%, and used that as the list price with the agent we liked best. And still noone looking. Maybe it’s Easter? I don’t know. Anyone want a cute little house? I’ll wash the windows…

Thanks, guys. We’ve had a couple showings already, which is kind of exciting. It being passover and Easter, we decided against an open house for this weekend, so I’m a little surprised that anyone is seeing it at all.

Montegut - too bad - I did have an outdoor pool, but filled it in. I hope you don’t have to wait for the lottery before you get to move to Seattle :)

DH and I were noticing today that there are MANY more “For Sale” signs in our area than in the past two years. Even the last two springs, there just weren’t many for sale. It will be interesting to see how quickly they sell and the prices. One house (across the road from two that are listed now) sold within a month for the asking price. I hope that is the case when we want to sell…in five years or so…in the meantime, I’ll fix the place up and enjoy it. It’s only 16years old!

^^^You’re sweet, Faux. Just a view of Mt. Rainier on a clear day is all I need. I’ll need the lottery for the house on Whidbey, I would guess, but a shack would suit me just fine if I could talk my husband into relocating there. The scenery, even in the most boring of places, was enough to take my breath away. We don’t have mountains in Louisiana, and I just could not get enough of them.

Agree that Whidbey is spectacular. I’m just bummed one of the wineries there no longer makes the loganberry liqueur. Incredible stuff.

You should check out a new housing community called The Highlands at Langley (or something with Highlands in it). They’re building these adorable Ross Chapin cottages around a community green - I would love to live there when I retire. You get to be out in the country, but without the isolation.
