Welcome Week Scheduling- GAHHH 2 events at same time

I just realized that I scheduled and rsvp’d to two events that seem to take place at the same time. My biological sciences student welcome is scheduled for 1:30, but that is the same time as the Federal Work Study Job Fair, so I’m confused as to who I can call or what to do about this situation. I want to go to both, but I know that the job fair is a necessity. Any help would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

hmmmmm por favor??

The work-study job fair runs for 2 hours. Perhaps, you can proceed through as quickly as possible, picking up applications & info etc then proceed to your welcome reception. If I were you, I’d call the bio science department, inform them of the conflict and ask how long the welcome will last. The job fair is a firm, one-time event and should not be missed if you’re looking to line up a work-study job. There will be lots of booths etc. You don’t have to fill out every application that afternoon.

pretty sure you can probably miss that bio welcome. but then again, it’s at that time that you will get to meet all the kids in your major who may become your future buds.

Don’t worry about the Biological Sciences welcome. It was a waste of time. JOB FAIR=way more important!!

Do you guys think that an hour will be enough time for the job fair. I plan to make it to the bio welcome and stay for the presentation for an hour and then move on to the job fair for the other hour. At least, that was the only solution that both the bio dept and the student career services people could come up with . If not, I’ll just skip it and go get a job!

i don’t think workstudy job fair will be that important either. I mean getting a workstudy job isn’t that hard so there’s no real need to go to a fair for it. I got a job in like week after I got to campus

What would be the best way to get a job on campus? I’ve submitted one app about a week ago already but have had no response so far.

You should go to the job fair, I really don’t know how much you’re gonna get out of the bio welcome. Do you know what they have planned? If you really want to meet your professors, go to their office hours.
At the job fair, some tables take applications on the spot so you if you see something you like, you may be able to apply right there. Just browse all the tables and you should be able to find something you like (and you get free stuff too).

Is the job fair also first come first served? As in, I’ll end up with the remains if I go in the second half?
