<p>I’m a student in California (a junior), and of course I want to get admittance into the top UC schools, like UCLA and Berkeley. My grades are pretty good, but I’m trying to look find that something that makes me a stand out applicant to the admissions office.</p>
<p>During registration for next year, a counselor passed out a sheet of ROP classes we can take. Looking at it I saw a Medical Back Office Internship. Being interested in medicine and starting volunteering at a hospital, I thought it will give me a boost in the college admission process. Now while looking at the course, it seems like I will be training to have a good medical assistant job by doing arbitrary tasks. I don’t know if the uni’s will care much for the program. And it is a lot of time to put in, its from 1:30-5 on Mon-Thurs for 1 semester. It’ll definitely impact my free time and might affect my grades (though not significantly).</p>
<p>So what do you think? Should I go for it or not? Does anyone have any information/experience on things like this? Thanks in advance.</p>
