Wellesley Class of 2020 RD Discussion

i posted on the wrong thread lmao whoops

My financial aid hasn’t come out yet either

I thought financial aid was supposed to come out in the morning right?

mine isn’t out yet.

I got mine you guys!

Finaid is up!

I just got mine too!

I got mine!

Late, but accepted! So relieved that I can have a chance at staying near my one true love, Legal Sea Foods.

Where is financial aid located?

@nubble16 There should be a button on the MyWellesley homepage near the decision button that will take you to your award letter.

Got rejected ;(
It feels weird, this is the first school I’ve been rejected from. My grades were well within the range and my aunt (a Wellesley alumn) even wrote me a recommendation letter. Though I guess it became a toss up between me and other amazing women and this time I didn’t win.
It’s okay though, I still have other good schools I got into. I guess I just don’t really understand, I got into the super selective Macaulay Honors college but not this one. I don’t know. But I’ll accept it and move on; though I would’ve loved to have been accepted.

Hey, I recognize you from the Yale-NUS Class of 2020 thread. Waitlisted too! O.o I don’t know, I thought I had a good shot, considering I was accepted into Yale-NUS College as well?

CONGRATULATIONS to all those that have been accepted!

And @ginandcats - I completely agree with your point. Accepted into Yale-NUS college, a college with a 5% acceptance rate, but waitlisted at Wellesley College. Life is strange.

Is there a fb group for accepted students?

@mollikinz there is an unofficial one but it’s still helpful for getting advice from current students/meeting other accepted students

Did anyone else get an awful financial aid decision? I was super disappointed to see mine–I’m hoping they read my financial aid documents wrong or something otherwise there’s no way I can even consider Wellesley.

@crazycatlady87 Same here. The financial aid was so bad Wellesley is no longer an option. It was nice to get the acceptance, I’ll save the letter to show future generations, but when there’s no way I could possibly afford to go, I have to turn it down

According to the facebook group you can always appeal to the SFS if you need more aid. Current students say they are willing to help and sometimes misinterpret financial situations. @crazycatlady21 @phoria

Do you know if Wellesley matches aid offers from similar colleges? If not, would they consider them?
