Wellesley Class of 2020 RD Discussion

@vellichor It certainly wouldn’t hurt to ask. If getting a better offer is the difference between attending Wellesley and choosing another school, I think you should be upfront about that.

I was admitted into Mount Holyoke and Wellesley; Moho gave me a large merit scholarship and Wellesley is completely need-based. I got much less from Wellesley. Is it worth it to try and get more aid from W if that’s the deciding factor? I don’t know if it will do me any good though because they decide how to give aid differently. Also, W gave me student loans when Moho did not.

@mollikinz It’s always worth asking. It is true the two schools decide aid very differently and it might do no good but you won’t know unless you ask. For us, Wellesley was half the cost of MoHo (my D also got a large scholarship) and it was very much part of the deciding factor. When you have financial need, how could it not be.?!

Any advice for getting off the waitlist?

@bettyxyp88 Feel free to message me! I’m a sophomore at Wellesley who’s been through the process and have been giving students advice.

I would also love advice anyone has about getting off the waitlist!!! Wellesley just feels so right. Thank you in advance!

I didn’t get any financial aid :frowning: I’m SOOOOO disappointed because I can’t go now and sighs
