I’d think about where you want to end up post-college. If you want to be in Cali, USC will give you an edge over the other schools. Do you want to work in Boston? Go to BC.

Think about the weather-- do you want to live in LA? How about freezing cold Boston? I live in Boston, so I’m not trying to rag on it. But we got snow yesterday (april 1st). Just sayin’.

Other considerations:
- I almost went to Wesleyan. As you note, your chances of getting off the WL are slim. But it is very liberal. It’s like living in Brooklyn. Do you like hipsters, NPR, and protests? Definitely work to get off that waitlist! One exception is Wes’s science department. It is outstanding, really good for premeds, and less hippie
Even though I decided against Wes, my best friend went there, so I spent a lot of time on campus. He went on to get his MFA and writes plays. His friend from Wes works at NPR’s Story Corps.

On the flip side, I have friends that went to USC and now work in Hollywood. Totally different tracks. All great schools.
