Wesleyan Class of 2018 ED I Thread

haha yeah ^. My mom keeps asking me what my second major would be and I’m like IDK I’m not even accepted yet!

also wait till you get to college as well! haha

about15days

i wish wes would release some info regarding how many people applied like what other schools do

I’m trying to prepare myself for rejection/deferral. Because if I don’t get in, then there are still lots of schools that will probably still accept me and I can pick and choose and not worry so much about FA.

Hopefully they’ll email us sometime next week

@atlava I think they only do that for RD. and yeah I agree clearwater I have other options if Wes rejects me I just 1. don’t want to write all this supplemental stuff 2. i feel wes is a perfect fit for me 3. i dont want to worry until april to find out where im going to school. 4. i really dont want to end up going to my safety…

same here danielfelsen. i wish i had a safety that i would like going to, but i really dont want to end up there

i think they should tell us when we will find out next week.

much rather get rejected than deferred honestly. they might not email us until the mon of the second week because thats what they did last year

oh then maybe they will do that ^. and I agree but I know people who have gotten deferred to ED2 and then accepted. id rather just get accepted lol.

what are your second choices? is anybody else from your school also applying ed?

6 other kids from my school did Wes ED. and probably Brown or Vassar.

If I get deferred to ED 2 I honestly might just tell them to place my app in the RD pool. Better to wait 2 more months to look at all options, and if they were to accept me ED they likely would accept me during RD, too.

only 2 others did at my school but they dont have a limit right?

No but I think they compare you to other applicants from your school.

No your not competing with kids from your school. Its not like they can only take x kids from your high school your looked at with the entire applicant pool.

That’s what they mentioned in The Gatekeepers. They looked at one applicant and decided to defer in favor of accepting other students from the same school with more appealing stats.

Ugh, really no one knows :(

They compare you in context to your school. So if your school offers 20 APs and you take 0 they will think that you didn’t really use your resources to an advantage. Likewise if your school offers 0 and you went out of your way to take a course at a local college they would be very impressed. Also if you have a 100 average at your school with full APs but a 1700 on your SAT they usually assume your school is “easy”. Btw I got this from some article haha.

Yeah I mean there’s no point in stressing about you vs. the kids in your school. People get rejected to Wes with 2300s all the time so its obviously not all about stats.
