Wesleyan Class of 2018 ED I Thread

I had a nice meal, I also had a little Hanukkah celebration. @Sissy16 I also I have no confidence so don’t feel too bad, others who applied also have below average numbers.

still cant get over early hanukkah is. anyway lets just to think about the other parts of our app that were strong

My scores are not even that bad, I just felt that my interview wasn’t great and my school is only so so… I just never have confidence in myself…I really hope we all get in… I keep saying that, but only because I truly mean it.

i really would like to meet you guys! it would be insane if we all got in. these two weeks will go by fast no matter how painful. and dont worry about the interview its not that important. my testing scores arent too good but my recs and essay should make up for them

The only part of my application that is lacking is GPA, and really that’s only my sophomore year, which my guidance counselor wrote an explanation of in his letter. Still though. My interview went very well.

as someone with a talent this was confidence-boosting, and could be whether or not you have one.

I don’t know if this table is common knowledge

imgur . com / 33FsNkn

thats good!

i really dont think ill get in but i’d just like to know now! dont want to write those other supps

really happy that extracurriculars arent too important. i think the race part will help me somewhat.

and the chart is from the common data set

I want to know too even though I won’t get in… I think I have the passion, drive and decent grades, but I don’t know.

Luckily I only have 2 others to write for within my 6 other schools, but I still would love to not have to do them

I have to write A few bit they are all the same …why this school… And I have similar reasons for all of them…but honestly I don’t want to have to write them because that would mean rejection.

so are you gonna write just one for all of them and then just change it up a bit for each school

Basically, the foundations will be the same and then I will throw in something unique for each… The only different one is for Bucknell, other than that the supplements will be similar.

bucknell! that seems so diff from wes

I know but it’s on my list, I haven’t seen it but it’s there…I am also considering Lafayette and Tufts. What about you guys?

Yeah i saw the common data set but also its hard to tell what they look for. I know kids who have gotten in with sub par scores but amazing ECs and vice versa. They are really looking at how you will contribute to the wes culture and how u fit in. Theres no point in over analyzong right now because whats done is done and you cant go back and redo high school. Just have confidence and let these next 2 weeks go by.

Im considering brown, vassar, oberlin, yale, and binghamton (safety) if i dont get in. Dont rlly wanna go to bing though

If I don’t get into Wesleyan I’ll do ED2 to NYU Gallatin.

My next top is Bard, then some lower schools that are pretty much safeties; Skidmore, Hampshire, Trinity, my state school

i didnt really like lafayette, but a psych professor took me out to lunch and sounded like the actor jimmy stewart so that was awesome

I’m thinking about NYU as well but it might be too large for me, I think I need a really small, close community, but I love NY.
