<p>hahah acoolpanda yeah what is up with our usernames? mine stands for band acronyms (didnt have the best taste in music in middle school). why did you choose yours? admissions would def make fun of us along with basically everybody else haha</p>

<p>Danielfelsen, do you want to know something weird…there is a composer named Daniel felsenfeld, oddly coincidental haha…cool choice and mine is just part of a nickname (family joke).</p>
<p>Oh my goodness I always took your username literally, like that you are at lava. I thought that maybe you saw a volcano once or that you lived close to a volcano or just had something to do with volcanoes. </p>
<p>And I’ve always been terrible at coming up with usernames, so my first username that was not just my name was “amandathecoolpanda” because panda rhymes with my name and “amandathepanda” just sounded really lame to me. But then that became annoying to type so one day in seventh grade I decided “fine. I am just a cool panda.” And thus the acoolpanda username was born.
I wish I had a cool story that was like “yeah I went to Asia once and I met a panda and we became best friends and I felt pretty cool and kinda like I was one with the panda so I declared myself a cool panda.”</p>

<p>I read a lot, and I was reading am article once and I found his name in it, so I googled him. I get curious about random things sometimes, I don’t know his work though. And maybe it was just a fluke, I just thought it was funny, your username sounded familiar and then I remembered his name, I am so random!</p>

<p>Don’t get me wrong, Wesleyan is a good school but there are better liberal arts schools (haverford, bowdoin, vassar, williams, amherst, pomona etc.) Is Wesleyan usually this popular among the kids who are qualified but not quite smart enough for the schools I listed above?</p>
<p>@Bubinski, I think what makes Wesleyan popular is its very unique culture and community. I don’t think it has anything to do with being less qualified for the other LACs.</p>
<p>What do you mean “qualified but not smart enough”? And what makes those schools “better liberal arts schools”? Their rankings on US News Weekly?</p>

<p>Yeah I agree with clearwater123. College rankings don’t make one college better than another, each of the LACs offer different things, you can’t just compare them in terms of numbers.</p>
