<p>I’m a little concerned about this, because I don’t like knowing everyone and everyone knowing everything about everyone. I always having opportunities to meet new people.</p>
<p>My high school has 2,300 students, only 400 less than that of Wesleyan, and I feel like I know everyone in my class (there aren’t huge opportunities to meet lower and upperclassmen).</p>
<p>What do you guys think? Does the small student population ever seem to be a problem for you?</p>
<p>there is much more interaction among the classes at Wesleyan than at your high school. while you may only have an available “network” of 600 or so students, you really are exposed to all 2,800 or so students here, so no, the “small” population is never a problem for me. I’m always meeting new people (and always running into familiar ones).</p>
<p>Admissions has a favorite line: the number of students is such that you can go to an event and always see people you know and you can go to an event and always meet someone new.</p>
<p>It’s corny as shiit, but also very much true. I think it’s a perfect size, at least for me; I couldn’t imagine being happier at a big school.</p>
<p>Do a lot of people go abroad junior year? If you don’t go, do you feel odd or isolated without all your friends around? With sort of a small student body, I wonder if that can be a problem… Thanks!</p>
<p>about 50% of Wes students study abroad (mostly in junior year). I didnt, but lots of my friends didn’t either. sure, you miss a few people, but it’s not odd or isolating at all!</p>
