West Campus vs. Riverside

I don’t know whether to live next year in West Campus or off Riverside. At riverside, I’d have my own room and bathroom, whereas at West Campus I’d have to share a room and bathroom, in addition to paying about $100 more in rent. I’m conflicted because WC is walking distance to campus and since I spend many nights at the PCL, I don’t have to watch the time for the bus. What should I do? I guess I want to live at West Campus for convenience but I don’t know if it’s stupid to pass up on the extra $100/month savings.

I guess what I’m trying to ask is if the proximity is worth the price.

The library is not the only place to study. You could study in your apartment, especially if you have your own room.

If you must study in PCL, then I would get an apartment close by as you will waste a lot of time waiting for and riding the bus.

I was in the same predicament as you. I study in PCL every night till 2-3 A.M. and living in WC has been a great benefit. I dont have a car so that is the main reason why I chose WC over Riverside. Honestly, I’m paying $650+ $50 a month in WC in a small condo complex and its honestly not that bad, for that price. @lisiatc- some people just can’t study in there apartments, and most people go to PCL, ECJ, etc. to study.

If the priority is to study on campus, then yes, the west campus apartment cost is worth it. I have spent a fair amount of my life waiting for a bus. I soon learned to value my time and not waste it on waiting. Buses are late or you miss them – which is quite frustrating.
