Does anyone have info on West Village (F) to be exact? I am in a suite style and wondering what furniture is provided and what I should plan on bringing? Any info on whether the beds are lofted or anything like would be greatly appreciated.

You are not allowed to bring in furniture to any dorm. Plastic storage things are the most you are allowed.

This is for the majority of rooms, but there could be a few that differ for some random reason. WVF has a couch, two chairs, an end table (or two, can’t remember) and a coffee table in the living room. Microwave is NOT provided, but there is an oven and a fridge. In each room there are two desks, two dressers and two beds, plus closets with a few built-in wire racks.

For the most part, the beds are lofted. However they are just on posts, so it’s very easy to de-loft them and for the most part there is plenty of room to move the dresser and desk out from under your bed. Some rooms will have the beds already de-lofted, but it’s just because the previous people didn’t bother to put the beds back up. My first year I got hit with an “excessive cleaning fee” (despite having a clean room) because my roommate and I didn’t loft our beds again, but I don’t know if this is common practice or if we just had a mean RA.

I know the beds in my apartment aren’t lofted in West Village. (My roommate has already arrived.) Is it possible to get the stuff to loft the beds if it’s not there to begin with?

It depends on which dorm. WVF has the stacked pegs, but not all of the WV dorms do. If not, then you have to buy risers to add height- but it won’t raise it enough to be considered “lofted”.

I’m in West C. But if they are the stackable style, can you get the parts from facilities or something?

I move in Sunday to West Village F. I’m pretty sure I am going to loft my beds of they are not already. That just means I need seating area near the floor like a bean bag or something.

I knew I would have some sort of kitchen so I went with a 10 meal plan per week. It is still probably too much but I will take advantage of out takes if I need to.
