I was recently accepted to WVW. With the scholarship I will be getting it will be my cheapest school, and I went to an open house and I really liked it. I am leaning towards it, but I was just wondering if anybody knows anything else about it? Anything at all, good or bad? Thank you!
It’s an okay school, but the graduation rate is only 45%. The location seems to be the biggest negative.
Count West Virginia Wesleyan as one more private college that laudably enrolls more than its share of kids from low-income families, but expects them to carry a substantial amount of debt once they graduate. With a 40% Pell Grant recipient cohort, according to one site, one can expect a higher drop-out rate than average. Hopefully, the OP will have better odds.
Congratulations on your scholarship. When various factors are taken into account, WVW over-performs in its graduation rate by four percentage points. That’s a “good” metric and does put the odds in your favor (at least over six years).
