Westchester NY Train Station Parking HELP!

My son is working in Manhattan this summer and commuting from Fairfield County (so far anyway). He is also playing in a summer sports league – most of the games are in Westchester County. The time frame between work / commute / and game is very tight.

Are there any Metro North stations in Westchester where a non-resident can park and commute? Our other option is to drive over to, for example, Scarsdale, and provide transport to the field. He has a large equipment bag that he cannot schlep to work and back.

Our local train line has free station parking … but I am quite certain this is not true closer in! Thanks for any direction you can provide.

North White Plains has plenty of parking for non-residents. I think it’s $5 a day, but I’m not sure. This station is off the Bronx River Parkway just north of White Plains. I do know that you have to get there on the early side to be guaranteed parking, but during the summer this may not be the case.

North White Plains is probably the best option if the games are near the Harlem Line in southern Westchester (Hartsdale, Scarsdale, White Plains, Crestwood, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, etc.). If the games are near the Harlem Line in northern Westchester, there are plenty of stations that would work – Chappaqua, Mount Kisco, or even Katonah. For northwest Westchester, Croton-Harmon is probably your best bet – there are plenty of express trains that get you there from Manhattan in 50 mins or less.

You don’t have to be a resident to park at these stations, and there should be a good amount of spaces available in the summer.
