WFU Chances

I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of my chances at WFU RD.
I have a 3.49 GPA at a private Catholic High school and I am in the top 20% of my class. I have also taken carious honors and AP courses in every year in high school.
I have tons of good extracurricular which include large amounts of service.
Finally, I currently have a 26 composite ACT, and I am aiming for a 28-30 for my next test date.

What do you think, do I have a chance?

I forgot to mention that I am in National Honor Society and have made honors for my school all four years.

I think you have a shot (if you can get your scores up), but regardless I think it is a reach. I would really work hard on your essays (make sure that you articulate why you want to go to Wake Forest) and have a teacher, parent, or friend look them over. Prepare for your interview and have a few solid questions to ask the admissions officer who interviews you.

A lot of this is difficult to gauge, because factors such as strength of schedule, trends in grades, and exactly "what" you have done with your academic opportunities are all going to be important.

I would also take a look at Elon, which based on your stats, would be a more realistic option. Elon is a great school (lots of cross-applicants between Wake Forest and Elon) and I have spent a fair amount of time visiting the school (my brother attends).

Best of luck.

Weighted or unweighted 3.49 is really pushing's a lil' on the low side, and since SAT and ACTs are optional, GPA is really what they're looking at. Unfortunately, being top 20% in a small private school is not gonna give you an edge. I would make sure you have an excellent personal statement. If you can find an alumni to give you a recommendation, that would help. And I would try to contact the school to get an interview, so that you shine personally.
