I just got in ED
and I’m not sure if someone has already asked this question, but is it really worth taking the tests for my senior year AP classes? For example, I got a 5 on World History last year, so is there any point in taking the APUSH test, since only one counts towards the Social Sciences requirement? Likewise, is English Lit worth taking if I got a 5 on English Comp last year? I understand that I can get one free cu for it, but I would like to major in CAS as well, so it wouldn’t really be necessary for me. I’m also kind of lazy, and I don’t want to pay the $90 either if it won’t potentially help me. Thanks guys!

Bump bump!

If it can’t hurt you, you have a choice ahead of you.

Even though you were accepted ED, I think they still want to see you finish the year strong.

Don’t let senioritis and any other laziness get the best of you as you decide what to do.

Thanks! Any other opinions? If it won’t fulfill any requirements, I don’t want to waste the $90. I don’t know; I just feel like I learn as well without a test to prove it.

English comp and lit both give the same credit equivalent, and you can only use 1 AP credit to fulfill each of the Gen Ed distribution requirements. It’s not worth your $90 to sign up for the test if it fulfills the same gen ed requirement. https://spike.wharton.upenn.edu/ugrprogram/classof2017/ap.cfm is a helpful page (although specific to current freshmen, and as always subject to change.)

Thank you! I’m going to presume the same applies to World History and APUSH, right? The webpage was super helpful, too.

I think world history and APUSH have different credit equivalent names, but they fulfill the same requirement
