Wharton ED and Cornell EA?

Could I ED to Wharton and also EA to Cornell AEM?

Also, how important is community service at these two schools? I’m contemplating on how to spend my summer; either spend the entire summer doing community service, taking on an internship, or attending precollege (at either one of the two schools)? What do you think is the best course of action and why?

I was always under the impression that if you apply ED to any school all other apps must be RD.

Source: [url=<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Facts About Applying Early Decision or Early Action – BigFuture]Early Decision - Early Action - apply to colleges, search/url. Scroll down, there is a table that lays out ED, EA, and RD.

Cornell only has ED no EA.

I’d go with internship.

@hardworking21: that’s interesting… obviously collegeboard is a reputable source but many of my senior friends have ED’d and EA’d to different schools, so i’m quite positive that there is something wrong with that table.

@smileygerl: i’m not sure i can post links, so search “cornell college first year deadlines” and click on the first link. it describes cornell’s early action and early decisions separately.

So with that said, does anyone know if i can ED to Wharton and EA to Cornell?
Also can I get some more opinions on the volunteer/pre-college/intership situation?

The Cornell that you’re referring to is in Mount Vernon. I believe this is a different institution from the one in Ithaca?

Yes, you can apply ED to one school, and unrestricted EA to other schools. However, Cornell only has ED so you’d be able to apply ED to one or the other.

@disagreement: You’re right, that was a misunderstanding on my part.
@maybobby: Thanks, I get it now.

Wow, this is actually a really hard decision…
