Would be interested in the reasoning of any current students who chose Wharton over HYPS. D2 is faced with making that decision, and we sincerely would appreciate your insight. Thanks!

When I toured Wharton one of the tour guides said her roommate chose Wharton over Princeton. Her reasoning was that she knew for a fact that she wanted to go into business. If your daughter (not D2, we’re not in the Parent’s Cafe) knows she wants to go into business, Wharton would likely be the best pick. If she isn’t so sure that she wants to go into business, another school might be a better fit.

If your daughter is interested in business, specifically finance, Wharton is second to none by a long shot.

princeton orfe could rival wharton’s finance if one is mathematically inclined.

If you want to do business, Wharton is it, but if not then go to the other schools. IRRC, the percentage of graduating students work in business/finace is H(20%+), Y(11%+), P(30%+), not sure about Stanford.
Also if your student is the type of student that does not want to go to graduate school then Wharton is a good choice.

I chose Wharton over one of these schools, spent a lot of time comparing all of them, and my best friend from hs goes to another. There are many reasons and don’t let people convince you it comes down to the percentage of kids from each that go to Wall Street and whether you are set on that or not. Not sure how you know all 5 are options already but if you have any specific questions or concerns feel free to PM me.

My post states “IF”(big if, in case you miss it) your kids want to do busines and NOT trying to convince people based on the percentage of kids from each school that go to Wall Street. Here is some previous discussion about choosing Wharton over other schools.

To me, it just seems like Wharton is the most well known on Wall street.
