<p>yeah so this thread is for all the wharton rejects who expected a deferral at the least, and are truly puzzled as to why they were rejected haha…</p>

  • Essays: i thought they were pretty solid, but i guess not

  • Hook (if any): apparently none</p>

<p>*Why you think you were rejected: my GC said penn doesn’t like our school too much… we turned them down in the past few years and they’re probably thinking… how dare they snub us… anyway, and i also think my being korean hurt me. =P

<p>My friend said something about seeing a post that a Penn admissions officer posted on this forum that he was sick of all the asian applicants, because many of them sent countless DVDs of irrelevant material.</p>

<p>I doubt ANY admissions officer would post something like that. That is a PR nightmare and anyone with a brain knows better.</p>

<p>It was probably someone pretending to be an admissions officer or a student who worked there.</p>

<p>Don’t start believing that Penn is a schoo like that. That’s ridiculous.</p>

<p>my friend sent like 9 supplement recommendations to penn…and he was flat out rejected, he had stats like yours too…i think alotta asians are hcore spazzes (i.e. my parents) and wanted to send in like every tiny bit of info…but my GC told me “thicker the file, thicker the applicant”…so i didn’t send in any supplements…i panicked for a week cuz i thought maybe i should have although i didn’t know what i could have possibly sent…but oh well it turned out ok…good luck with your RD!!!</p>

<p>i know someone who applied to penn ED (A/S) … and they did summer programs at PENN both before junior and senior year … both father and grandfather attended Penn (wharton and a/s) … father contributes money annually to Penn … scores werent amazing but definitely above average (low 700s) … GPA good for a competitive school … and they got flat out rejected …</p>

<p>and the person is from a small town where no one else knows about penn</p>
