I’m going to take my SAT I this October my SAT II this December. I really want to go to Wharton and I believe that ED has a higher chance of admission compare to regular decision. I want to apply for ED but the problem is that I will not have sat my SAT II by November 1st. UPenn. requires 3 SAT II and I won’t have them when I apply for my ED. Can I still apply for Wharton? What’s my chances of getting admitted into Wharton with no SAT II then? Oh, I’m majoring in Economics by the way.

The Wharton School does not offer a major in Economics. Economics is offered in the College of Arts of Sciences-which is where you should apply if you want to major in Econ. This is a common misperception because the Wharton School offers a Bachelor of Science in Economics [which is a business degree] and is misleading in that it suggests that the school offers Econ as a major.

actually Wharton requires two SATII’s. The SAT1 reasoning test has the third section (writing) which counts like the third SATII. There is one thing that you could do in order to take SATII’s. Take the novemeber SATs and then rush your score reports. I might be wrong but I believe you would not be able to get into Wharton without SATII’s because they might be required. Hope that helps!

Take the SAT in October. Take two SAT IIs (Math IIC+your favorite subject) and rush the scores. Call up Penn to make sure they received the score by the third week of November.

Without SAT IIs you have a 0% chance of getting in (they are mandatory).

I know this has been asked before… but does anyone know what the ED rate for Wharton is really? I’ve heard around 30% and around 18%, big difference as you can see…

here is a link to a thread which is still active:

Wait, what do you mean by “wharton does not offer Economics as a major itself?” I really don’t understand that part. Also, can someone show me the link in the UPenn site stating that it only needs 2 SAT subject tests instead of 3? I’m beginning to get confused here. =/

Wharton’s undergraduate degree is “Bacholors of Science in Economics.” However, it doesn’t not offer “economics” as a concentration but rather business concentrations like finance, accounting, management, etc…

FYI, the admissions officers don’t like prospectives using the wrong name for Wharton. It’s Wharton, the Wharton School, or the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, if you’re feeling fancy.

If you want a link for that research it. It has been said and repeated countless times that if you take the SAT Reasoning Test that the writing section acts like a third SATII. That is why you only need 2.

dude i dont think u even deserve to apply to Wharton.
It seems to me that you have not done your research, and not willing to do your research at all.
If you want to know the Penn website, maybe you should type “University of Pennsylvania” in the search engine.

^^^was that post aimed at the OP or someone else? It isn’t clear who you are referring to.
