CHANCE ME AND I’LL CHANCE YOU!
I appreciate your responses in advance.

We have the same SAT score (I also took only one sitting) =D Ok well to be honest, you seem to have invested yourself a lot in business related activities which is a plus given what you want to go into (am I making a faulty assumption?) which is good. The parent rec however is totally irrelevant. No university will seriously consider a letter written by one of your parents. It’s just the way things work. Lots of AP’s which again is good. Your college list though, way out there. Not one backup. Chances are you might get into one or two of your colleges if you’re lucky. Consider some second options. That is, if you didn’t get into Penn. If you did then, why are you applying elsewhere? ED? Binding contract? I think your essay will be your point of distinction. Please take a look at my profile, and give me some feedback as well.

You’re home-schooled but no SATIIs? Did you take them at all? I guess its ok because you performed well on the AP tests. You have a unique application so it’s hard to say how admissions people will view it. You will probably get into one of those schools (if by UC you mean UChicago, then that is probably the easiest for you). But I agree with the person above me-- You need safeties. SUNYs? If you’re from NY apply to bing and buffalo, or some OOS state schools if money isn’t an issue.
Idk your SAT breakdown but if you got a 2180, and you did about the same in all sections, thats good for everywhere.

800 hours of community service??? There are even 800 hours IN high school? jk. but wow.

And good luck with Wharton, you seem like a good fit there!

shizniz:
Your assumption is correct, and yes I do have backups - I just didn’t want to bore everyone with names of 15 different universities… lol. To be honest, if I get deferred or rejected from Wharton, I’ll be applying to all the other ivies, UChicago, Stanford, Duke, and NYU (both of my parents graduated from NYU, so that should be a strong back up).

TheFutureIsHere:
I did take SATIIs! I should have included them (I posted my thread at around 3:00 am - I guess I was a little “out of it”).

Here are my SATII scores:
English/790
History/780
Math/790
Physics/780
French/780

Also FYI, if you divide 800 hours of community service between 4 years equals 200 hours a year, divided by 12 months equals less than 20 hours a month (not difficult, just commitment!)… lol.

Last note, thanks for the responses!

I’d say you should get into at least one of your top universities (Penn, Columbia, Cornell). Your business-related portfolio will stand out.

I’m just a bit confused, Penn ED came out on the 15th?!
But regardless, I think you have a good chance at all. Great GPA, sats 2s…your a very strong candidate.

I also was confused by that.

Make sure that you don’t make your resume seem too “professional.” Good luck! You’re def gonna get into one of them! :)

Great chances at all of your top schools, strong grades, tests, and business portfolio is a huge plus. Good luck!

Chance me please! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/621725-took-risk-blew-any-hope-left.html

If you don’t get in, I don’t understand how anyone can get accepted at Penn.
Good luck!
