i’ve heard that it’s easier for women to get accepted into business schools (grad) because a lot less women apply. is this true for wharton undergrads too? this is sort of like asking if wharton’s policy is similar to the MIT policy on accepting females. give me ur thoughts…

i think u are right that wharton gets less female applicants but i don’t think the number is as low as the number of female applicants schools like MIT get so i’m not sure wharton would have the same admit policy…on the other thread i noticed that u are deciding between pre med and business, i’m also interested in premed, did u know that if u major in BBB (which i was told alot of pre meds do) u can get a minor in health care management from Wharton, i’m not sure if that interests u or not but its something to think about

btw do u go to Dulaney?

Actually if you major in BBB you can’t get the University Minor in BBB and Health Services Management. Same as if you major in Psych you can’t do the Consumer Psychology minor. They don’t want you double counting courses that way.

If you are interested in premed you should aslo look at the new LSM program www.upenn.edu/lsm.

Wharton definitely gets less applicants from females than the College and Nursing, but I don’t know if it’s any easier to get in. I think they definitely want more girls there, but they aren’t going to lower admissions standards - so the girls who do get in are extremely competitive applicants.

oh yea u are right about BBB, i looked it up again the website explains it a little better than my tour guide did

http://www.psych.upenn.edu/bbb/BBBHCMGMinor.htm

I think the lesser representation is for MBA…young women working for 4 years MBA and then when do they plan for a family? MBA is where the loss of women shows up not undergrad.

omg r u christine? aala said she saw you at the mall when we last went together. whoa this is weird.

haha yea this is such a weird coincidence! u are applying ED too right? Its cool that u and aala are still friends! Where is she applying?

yup im applying ED. aala’s not really sure yet but she’s applying to maryland schools pretty much. that’d be cool if we saw each other at penn. we first meet during kindergarten and then end up at college together (if we get in)!

(twilight zone music)

wharton’s head of admissions came to my school and told me that i had a better chance because i was a girl. so yes… i suppose it help’s if one is a girl.

Wharton doesn’t have a head of admissions. In fact, Wharton has no admissions officers at all. Penn has admissions officers for all 4 schools.
