Wharton

Does Wharton show any kind of sympathy towards recent immigrants. I came here in 6th grade. As a result, I did poorly freshman year of in a really competitive high school. But i managed to pull it up during sophomore and junior year. Will they take this into consideration at all or would they just blindly look at your transcript average

haha i wonder if you go to stuy

well, i’m sure they take everything into consideration… as long as someone on your app they know that you moved here in 6th grade

My cousin goes to Stuyv…she came here at like six grade, and got ok marks…but Cornell deferred her from ED…they take it into consideration, but they don’t see it as a great excuse.

Yea, they def take it into consideration. If you show general improvement and if it looks like you have challenged yourself, then you should be fine. I also came from another country in 7th grade and i have the same exact situation as you (competitive public h.s. in NY etc) and if they only looked at my GPA i probably would have gotten rejected but i was deferred so… you should be fine

i think if u get deferred you have a 10 percent chance of getting in

yeah, 10-15%

yea i don’t care… didn’t wanna go to Penn anyways i got into a school i really wanted to go to so…

and what school would that be?

_________ County Community College
