What about the international student application process?

<p>I have a friend from Ecuador that has lived in New York for 2 or 3 years now. In his country, he obtained his 4-year degree in Tourism and Economics. My friend wishes to apply to NYU for Business. </p>

<p>Of course, he will have to sift through the NYU website, but here are some questions I have about his process:</p>

<p>1) Does he have to apply as a transfer student?
2) What about the TOFEL? Does he have take it at NYU after he’s accepted or before?
3) Do international students have an upper hand since NYU tries to ensure diversity among its students (especially if he’s tryna get into Stern)?</p>
