How old do you think they would be when they would not want you logging in as them and using their Facebook account to post things and click the “like” button on stuff?

I’m not talking monitoring it as a parent - I’m saying using it on their behalf.

I agree, never! My 13-year-old is as sweet as they come, but she would be horrified if I’d ever done that.

My 16-year-old does have the habit of leaving his Facebook page up on the computer screen, and I don’t hesitate to look. So I guess I am a snoop.

I have out of town friends where the husband has a facebook account and he was my high school friend. His wife (now also our friend) refuses to get a facebook account, but liked to get on his and post things. She would sign her name to them. I thought it was odd and I didn’t really like it. He finally told her to get her own account and stay off of his (she did not get one).

Really bad parenting to reach a long, bony finger and “like” something as if the child is speaking. Rather, parents should teach children to protect the online accounts they create.

MOWC, I have a friend like that, too. I understand her reasoning (she teaches college and doesn’t want to have the issue of not friending her students), but you can always use a bastardization of your name so they don’t find out or just set the boundary that you don’t friend your students. I don’t get the big deal. Anyway, I never really know who I’m talking to on there.
