Ok so I must first say that I do not live in the U.S., but will be attending college there and will start living there then. My aunt ordered a laptop for me from Dell in about mid May. It was the special edition studio and they were having a pretty good deal on it. So far, only the bag I ordered with it has arrived at her house (she lives in the U.S.), but no laptop to date. Also, at the time, we were not aware of the educational discount I was entitled to so did not order it through those means. By the time I had found that out and was able to contact a sales representative, she said that the invoice had already been written up (although I’m not sure if maybe she said this because I mistakenly told her that the laptop had arrived already as I was not aware that it was only the bag).

I tried to reconfigure the same laptop using the educational section of Dell just for the sake of seeing whether or not we really would have been entitled to a discount on that laptop, and we were. So, now I need my aunt to call them. The thing is, I’m not sure what she should ask. I also saw where students are entitled to free complete care and accidental damage coverage for whatever period of time they got the warranty for. so, should I ask her to get her account debited or to negotiate the warranty and trade in the price difference for something like more warranty time or anything else?

Sorry if it’s a bit long and rambling. Hope you all can understand what I mean.
