I am well aware that Harvard has initiated a program to eliminate loans and reaching out to the middle class with tuition.
However, most top universities have not taken the same path and yet retain large amounts of endowment money. I believe that we need to tax the endowments of the top universities at the same rate as the capital gains of for-profit organizations. What do you think?

I think when making a provocative argument for changing the status quo you should usually make some kind of an argument for why the benefits outweigh the consequences.

ie: give us something more to go on than just, “I believe…”

You won’t be too popular anywhere :p. It’s the choice of the college on whether or not they will tap into their endowments. Making it taxed serves no purpose except for the IRS to have more revenue.

You cannot be serious.
