<p>I want to ask my computer science teacher, but would that be considered an academic teacher as it is categorized as an elective class at my school? </p>

<p>Generally, “academic” only means they don’t want you to get, say, your band teacher. Computer science should usually be fine.</p>
<p>However, do make sure to check each individual college’s policies, because some have specific subject areas that you need reccomendations from.</p>
