What are Brown's most outstanding programs?

I’m curious. I know Brown is prestigious but I have never learned of anything that has distinguished it besides it being part of the Ivy League.

And please do not give vague responses such as “it’s good at everything”.

Applied math (though probably more at the grad level), computer science (and hopefully new hirings will bump the department up further). Classics is excellent for undergrads...

Geology. PLME program is one of few similar caliber in US. Not "a program" but (paradoxically?) "Happy Students" and Rainy weather!

Yeah, I would say the "truly outstanding" in the sense that it really separates it from other overall similar caliber schools would be computer science, geology, classics, and neuroscience.

Other very strong programs would be biology, econ, applied math, and history

I would say that it is the flexibility of the curriculum that distinguishes it from
other top schools. Although there are many good departments there are many
many other schools with equally strong departments. For example Carnegie Mellon
has a particularly strong computer science department that would provide a
wonderful education for undergrads.
Several other Ivy League schools are probably better known for history.
