UC Berkeley says it considers rigorous academic enrichment and outreach programs when selecting applicants. What exactly is included in their definition of these terms (specific programs)? Do any of the programs NOT require significant tuition/fees? Thank you!

I’m more interested in programs in California to see if I had the opportunity to participate or not. Thanks again!

They are also talking about Saturday schools, after-school programs - like for language, music, etc. Instruction above and beyond regular schooling.

They are primarily talking about things like CTY at Johns Hopkins, MITES at Mit, TASP in Colorado. Any of the Governors Programs (I dont know which states have them, which don’t). Pre-college programs at Juilliard or Berkeley. Things you need to take an SAT test for pretty much are considered rigorous academic enrichment programs.
