<p>they are just fun social groups, they serve no purpose ‘usually’, and most schools have em.</p>

<p>social groups, that organize parties and events, and occasionally community service. Process called “pledging” to become part of one.</p>

<p>They are fun, but vary in the kind of experience they give you in terms of how it looks on a resume. If you are a President or Treasurer of a fraternity, it means you work well with people, are organized, and responsible. If you just sit around and drink all day, thats not such a valuable experience.</p>

<p>I was anti-fraternity when I applied to colleges, ended up joining one freshmen year and next year I’m going to be VP.</p>
