Extracurricular Activities- Have had my poems published, Took home every award except crew in State Drama Competitions, been on school newspaper, interned at a national courier company. (I’ve hadn’t been able to get many leadership roles due to moving around so frequently.
Other: Have an extreme hardship story
Also I live in Wisconsin.
I’m interested in going into a business or political science major in college.
What schools should I look into and what do I need to add to my resume?
The number one question before looking for schools: How much can you afford?
My parents are fairly middle class in the mid to high 5 figures, but they aren’t willing to contribute anything to my college so I mostly need schools that offer good need based aid or merit based aid and I’m willing to take out a fair bit of loans. I’m also planning on applying to as many scholarships as possible and hopefully they’ll add up.
As a student you can only take out the following amounts: Freshman year-$5500, Sophomore year- $6500, Junior and Senior year- $7500. The rest will have to be Parent plus loans taken out by your parents or merit aid. Not my business, but why are your parents unwilling to contribute to your college costs? As a parent, I find it hard to understand why any individual that brings kids into this world and has the means to help with their education are unwilling to provide for them. Sorry, just one of my pet peeves…
Good Luck.

I’m one of four kids and since my siblings either didn’t go to college or went to community college they never needed to give them any money so my parents refuse to give me any. Also they spend way past their means and don’t have money ever left over. I’m paying all AP test, ACT, and college application fees out of pocket of the little money I’ve saved over years, but it adds up fast. I just really want to get a good education and go to a good college and I hope money doesn’t stop me from that. Also thanks for the links
I wish you much luck and hope you get into some great schools.
