What are good Poli Sci Schools

I’m planning on majoring in political science in college and eventually going in to politics (as in working on campaigns not as a canidate). I was just wondering what are a few of the good political science schools out there?

I hear Georgetown is good. Where better to study Poli Sci than in D.C.?

If you’re planning on actually working on campaigns, then there’s no question. George Washington University offers degrees in Political Management. You learn how to be a political consultant – create an image, a slogan, a rep, etc. I think Political Management is a graduate degree, but there is also an undergraduate degree in Political Communication, which is like a mix between political science, journalism, and communication. Check out more info at GWU.

Here are some links –

School of Political Management – <a href=“Graduate School of Political Management | College of Professional Studies | The George Washington University”>Graduate School of Political Management | College of Professional Studies | The George Washington University;

Beware though, GWU is expensive. I’m not sure what your situation is, but make sure you check out their fin. aid and admissions pages.

Also, to start learning about political management, check out Campaigns & Elections magazine, which is in the bathrooms of every elected official in Washington. Its former editor-in-chief, Ron Faucheux, sort of created the field of political management and wrote many of the first textbooks on the subject. Here’s his website – http://www.faucheux.com

You might also want to try American University (DC). They’re all over that.
