I want to do computer science. What are my chances to get into these universities?

Cal Poly Pomona: Your GPA and SAT are both in fine shape. I’d say you have a pretty good chance of getting in.

Cal Poly SLO: Your GPA is also good, but your SAT is low. Given how selective computer science programs can be, I’d say your chances are lower here.

UCSC: See Cal Poly Pomona.

Cal Poly SLO uses 9-11th grades for their GPA calculation unlike the rest of the Cal States and UC’s. They also have about a 10% acceptance rate for CS so that school is a Reach with your SAT score.

I think you are good for Cal Poly Pomona and UC Santa Cruz.

Cal Poly Pomona - I think you’ll get in, both SAT and GPA are right on target or above.

Cal Poly SLO - I don’t think you’ll get in here, though it’s not impossibe. Your GPA is a pretty good match for them, but as netanyahu said above, your SAT is a little low. I also can’t get a good feel for your ECs, but the CS major here is pretty competetive.

UC Santa Cruz - I think you’ll get in, similar to Cal Poly Pomona.

• Once upon a mattress Play
• Part of the innovation club
• Monologue + one act night
IRC (Robotics Competition) 3rd Position-2013(In india)
• YAC: Youth Action Council (Making legislative reforms and organizing events in Morgan Hill)
• Part of the innovation club
• Have designed and taught a theater course to the unprivileged children (Effect International School, Gurgaon under effect organization of US)
If this might change my prospects for slo, please let me know

You need to cut down that list of ECs to the most important ones/leadership positions. Something you did once in 8th grade is just filler and won’t help your chances.
