What are my chances at Georgetown, Vandy, Emory?

Hi everyone! I’m a rising senior and I just want to get some feedback about whether my stats would help me get into Georgetown (1st choice), Vandy, or Emory.

ACT (breakdown): Composite 34 (36 English, 36 Reading, 33 Math, 32 Science)
SAT II: US History (640 taking again), Biology M (710), Math Level 2 (750)

Other notable qualifications: For all of high school, I have attended a selective governor’s school for math, science, and technology in addition to my regular public high school. At gov school, I have participated in 4 extensive research projects and have placed at school, city, and regional science fairs.

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Student Government Association (Spirit Chair in 10th grade and 11th grade, Secretary in 12th grade), Key Club (Editor for 3 years), Was a founding member of a Writing Enrichment program for middle school students in my city (~75 participants, recognized city wide), Yearbook Staff (Business Manager for 2 years), Student Advisory Council at my specialized Math&Science school (I attend there half of the day, it is very competitive and application based), Member of a Youth Services Citizen Board through my local government (was accepted through application, work very closely with local government officials to support local youth)

I think you can make it to all these schools, cause you have great grades, leadership roles, awards, work experience, community service and basically everything needed. Do as well in senior year! You really don’t have any issues with your application, you just are applying to selective schools without having any hooks.

Can’t speak for Vanderbilt or Emory, but seven people from my high school will be attending Georgetown next year (two of which I know well), and your stats are definitely comparable to theirs. I think if you manage to get great recs and write a killer essay, you should have a decent shot at any of them. Best of luck. :slight_smile:

Gtown is a reach for anyone but you’re the type of kid with a competitive shot anywhere. Gtown and Vandy are reaches, just like they are for everyone. Emory low reach/high match.
