Hi. I am wondering if anyone can give me any insight. I’m a 23 year-old LA based professional actress in SAG/Equity/AFTRA I have applied to Tisch’s acting program for September 2010 as a transfer student.

I went to school in NYC for two years at The American Academy Of Dramatic Art (AADA- not AMDA) back in 2004-2006. I have been out in “the real world” acting professionally ever since. But now I want to go BACK to school to finish my BFA!!!I know that NYU does not accept conservatory credits even if they allow you to successfully transfer into TISCH -but I was wondering what my chances are of getting in since:

A)I’m a little older (and maybe that will work against me?!?)

B) I am transferring in from a professional two year acting conservatory & NOT a traditional college (even though I got college credit from my previous acting school)so maybe they won’t like that?

C) My grades at my last school were good but not BRILLIANT. I has a 3.9 GPA and I have a 4.0 GPA in my senior year of high school but since I’m Canadian I never took SAT’s (and NYU said that’s fine because I’m foreign haha)

I have worked as an actress in some good roles in minor films, acted in a short film that went to the Sundance film festival and I was in a fairly significant NYC premier of an off-broadway play a few years ago. My NYU acting audition went well (but I’m pretty sure the auditioner was kind of confused as to why I wanted to go back to school in the first place lol) just not sure about my academic situation. How much do you think Tisch cares about the audition VS the academics?

I really really really want to get in but since I’m a transfer student they told me I won’t get my decision letter until the first week of May. It’s the end of April- should I be worried yet?
