Hi, I’m going to be applying to college very soon, but before I do I wanted to know how I fair at these certain schools, my dream schools!

AP Calculus BC- (taking now, senior year)
AP Lit- (taking now, senior year)
AP Italian- (taking now, senior year)
AP Macroeconomics- (taking now, senior year)
Extracurriculars:
On the track team for all 4 years, captain
member of FBLA club
Science Club, made it to state competition
Model Congress- one of the founders of the club at our school
Attended Business Bootcamp at a local college over the summer to learn business
Honors/Awards:
National Honor Society
Italian Honor Society
Math Honor Society
Science Honor Society
English Honor Society
Placed 7th in the region for Air Trajectory in Science Olympiad
Won 6th place in the county for the 4x100m relay in Track
Your SAT is low for Duke, if you want to retake it that would only help your chances.

Hey, I can’t offer much advice but just wanted to let you know that I have the exact same SAT score (690 M, 690 R, 760 W), a similar GPA (96 on 100 scale), 9 AP courses and similar ECs (4 year member and captain of track team, Engineering Society, NHS, etc.) I’m also applying to Tech, Georgetown and UVA so it sounds like we’re in the same boat. I recently went to a Tech meeting and here’s what they told me. Math and Writing are the most important SAT categories, so your high math score should give you a boost. Also, they are obsessed with course rigor, so the 10 APs look great. The SAT subject scores also look great, and that’s especially helpful for Georgetown. I don’t know much about Duke, but I’d say you have a decent shot at all the other schools. Good luck!
@INeedAnswers2 Did you mean to say that CR and Math are the most important? I don’t see Writing possibly being important at all!

@Buck5266 No, they said math and writing, which was surprising to me too. I even said “wow, that’s surprising because some schools completely disregard writing.” But she said GT has determined that those two categories correlate best with success at GT.
What state do you live in? OOS for UVA and UNC is tough. Otherwise, you look good for GT and Duke is a reach for everyone.
