You have three strikes against you already for going into Stanford - Asian, male, and in tech.

You have a decent shot at Berkeley but EECS is incredibly difficult to get into and people with perfect ACT scores routinely don’t get in. I personally know of 2 in the last 2 years just at my kid’s school, and one OOS kid.

Good stats just open the door, but it can’t get you though. You need to put forth a compelling application.

Your chances are lousy :). Stanford has a 5% acceptance rate and Berkeley has a 15% acceptance rate. It’s lousy for everyone.

Maybe for Berkeley play your cards as wanting to be a Japanese Lit or language major if they have one, then switch majors in Letters and Sciences once you are in.

Berkeley’s EECS acceptance rate is probably closer to 5%. Overall the CoE acceptance rate I believe is 9%.

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are great. Write good essays and you could get accepted to any of these schools
