Portfolio
High School - Texas 5A (biggest), sends some to “top” schools
Extras - Lettered as varsity volleyball manager
Officer/founder - English Honor Society, Interact (Rotary Community Service), Bake for Caner
Other Clubs- NHS, Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society) SHS (science honor society)
Work Experience- 20 hours a week at local pizza restaurant one year at this point,
Tutoring young children over
the summer, 10 hours per week
Long Term Community service projects- Book Drive, Book Buddies, Basket Brigade, Cans
not Candy, Curbside Recycling, Tutoring 5-20 hours per week for a 9 week perio
(Algebra I, II, and geometry)</p>

<p>Awards- AP Scholar, History Student of the Year, District Recognized Book Drive,
“Magnificent Marauder” </p>

<p>Essays- Both original, not much of a writer, however my english teacher told me it was
the best she has ever read, one was about being abnormally short, and the other about
my view as an artist on the world</p>

<p>Rec letters- One Excellent, one average, Counselor - boring too many student to actually
know me</p>

<p>Extras- Big in school spirit, Homecoming Court (Big deal in Texas), Spent 2 weeks on an
educational trip in Europe</p>

<p>ANY feedback would be great, I have no idea</p>

<p>hmm seems like u got a great app. i think if u nail the interview well not necessarily but umm if u do nail the interview and ur essays r that good then i’d say u got a big chance of getting in</p>

<p>Thanks :slight_smile: I’m just so nervous since I submitted my app on the 25 and still no call for an interview, I know I’m a person that’s going to need personal interaction for them to really want me haha- have you gotten yours yet?

<p>yeah same here. I’m dying to get an interview too. I submitted my app on the 29th, got my ELI account after 3 days but still haven’t got an interview. but i saw on CC that u’d have to wait a couple of weeks before they contact u. I’m an international student and umm someone i know last year who went to yale got his interview on the 27th, nov of course hehe so we just have to wait and have faith i guess

<p>nah you read it wrong, I played but then decided to manage where I lettered, at our school managing is just as many hours as being on team but obviously doing different things, I just put it on my app because its pretty much a 20 hour a week job- Im unnaturally short unfortunately :(</p>

<p>the fact that you are not submitting SAT 2 scores would be fishy. after all, they want students to be academic superstars. And you have to find something really good to write about in your essay, admissions staff at Yale look very carefully into essays and interviews.</p>

<p>^You don’t have to submit any SAT II scores to get in… People do get accepted without them.</p>
