Wait, why is this in the Harvard '15 forum?

I put it here because this is where all of the fresh amitted Harvard students are. So, please I would appreciate any and all input. Please chance me.

But there is a chances forum, where this is supposed to go. The fresh amitted Harvard students, if they feel like chancing people, will go to that forum.

Your credentials are sufficient. Your essay is the key. work on it…

We already told you on the AoPS forum that you’re a strong applicant for Harvard. It just comes down to whether you ‘fit’ in or not.

There’s no guarantee whatsoever. There are highly qualified students coming in from across the globe and by the time you apply I expect the current record number of 35,000 applicants to reach new highs. As a member of Harvard’s class of 2015, I would advise you to not pursue these “Chances” threads, for they don’t mean anything. As a smart individual, I’m sure that you yourself can figure that you’re grades are sufficiently high in comparison with the rest of the nation. There are too many unknown variables when there are human beings involved in the decisions process.

clearly you’re very modest. JK but you’re a genius so I’d say your chances are decent.

3 years of piano and already “expert level” lol why don’t you apply for juilliard?!
well…getting into Harvard depends on luck as well cuz there are plenty of outstanding applicants just like you…

i think it’s not a question of “chances” you must to believe in you you have all chance and i find you as being a strong applicant prey “Halla” if you’re muslim only the futur will say you if you r accepted into harvard i really hope for you
good luck :)

Since when is 1800 “expert”?

I think you should be careful with exaggerating your accomplishments. “1800” is NOT an expert chess rating, and there isn’t anyone that resembles you ranked highly in TN on USTA’s ranking site. These things are so easy to check. You should be careful.

Just work on a well-written essay and be genuine more than anything else… Im a member of '15 and your credentials blow mine out of the water, no lie. I will tell you that your income level and school can put you at a slight disadvantage… Harvard likes diversity, and to get in, you will be placed in the “perfect” category… but Harvard likes far more than perfect. If I were giving you a scaled chance assuming a genuine essay and a great interview, I would say 95% chance that you get in, 4% chance for waitlist and 1% that you get denied.

Prove that you want it, and DON’T FORGET TO BE MODEST AND GENUINE!

Last advice, if you must write a political essay, be very careful… and general. It is easy to offend an admission officer, but it shows that you’ve got guts, so do as you wish! Good luck and see you there in 2012!

This is a small error ,perhaps ? Do you mean " admitted " ? If you use the Harvard thread , it’s a good idea to use correct spelling and punctuation

You will be competing against many, many candidates with similar accomplishments. Other than good grades and test scores, what do you bring to the table? What is your passion? What will you bring to the community. Right now, you are a dime a dozen.

Well you certainly have the numbers, but we don’t know how they will like your essays, and I believe a 2000 rank is considered “expert”.

Note: I would check some of those stats if i were you (coughcough moppercoughcough)…unless of course those are hypotheticals.

Getting to the point, You have the achievements to be considered with interest, but you can never guarantee acceptance at Harvard, as is the case with other highly selective schools.

I was wondering what year you had qualified for the USAMO because no one from TN qualified last year, and the two who qualified in 2010 were both Chinese…Also, when were you a quarterfinalist for PFD? No one from TN made it to octa’s last year.

^ this post smells like a ■■■■■!

Sorry to be a creep… but do you go to Ravenwood? I used to live in the area and feel like I might know you.
