What are my chances? *lower stats*

Hi there!

I applied RD, although if I get in it is where I will likely want to go. I would have applied ED but I had not visit the campus prior to applying. I applied for the CORE Program, and I am likely to major in Cinema Studies beginning my junior year - if admitted.

Although my GPA is not the highest, my transcript shows an upward trend. Additionally, I had two teachers whom I am very close to write my letters of rec. My college counselor also gave a verbal recommendation.

This year I am enrolled in more “rigorous” courses such as AP Comparative Gov. & Politics, Calculus, and Expository Writing.

My stats are not that great, but here it goes:

GPA: 3.47 W/4.0
ACT: 25 composite, 28 writing

Extracurriculars:
-Drama (3 Years)
-Culinary Arts (3 Years)
-Drama Club Officer (2 Years)
-Shift Leader @ work
-Hospitality Management- selective program at my school (1 year, 2 periods)

Honors:
Honor Roll (1 year)
Thespians Honors Society (3 Years)

I also believe that I am a strong writer, and worked very hard on both my common app and supplemental essay.

Even though the core program is slightly less selective, i still think your stat is too low. I don’t consider myself as a very strong writer but I still get a 29 on the writing part of act. Also some people with lower stat got in because they have strong extracirculars but I think your activities are pretty normal for a high school student.
