I have a 1990 SAT ( 610 reading, 690 math, 690 writing) and a 30 ACT (27 math, 27 science, 30 english, 34 reading). I understand my ACT score is a little higher than my SAT score but is below the average at Cornell. I retook the ACT yesterday and am hoping to get a 31-32.
My three-year unweighted average is a %95.000 and I am ranked 28/402

Looking to apply to the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. Additionally, I am applying for an NROTC scholarship.
I have a super small hook that I think may help my application. My tutor was an admissions officer at Cornell for a number of years and said that she would be able to write a LOR for me.
Thanks for reading all this. At the end of the day, I understand any ivy is going to be super hard to get into but I was just wondering what my chances were. Thanks.

You live in Winchester. It feels like everyone at Cornell is from Winchester sometimes. It depends a lot on what school you apply to (your ACT/SAT is pretty low), but it is worth applying.

No sorry, haha I live in Queens, New York. Winchester is the last name of the Marine who lost his life in Iraq. That is who the scholarship is named after. Sorry for the confusion, thanks for the reply. I only took 1 SATII, but I would have loved to apply to the Engineering School.

I’m in the engineering school and there are people here who only took 1 subject test.

The people in the architecture school are extremely passionate about what they do. They live in the study. People joke that you won’t meet an architect your freshman year. I would advice you to apply to engineering ED if that is where you want to be.

Do you think I would be competitive at the Engineering school if I can bring my ACT up to a 31-32. I recently got an email from Cornell admissions and they said that I must take 1 Math SAT2 and 1 Science SAT2 to apply to Engineering. Every school had their own requirements regarding SAT2s but maybe they are just suggestions. If not engineering, what school do you think I would have the best shot at getting in to?
