ACT - 30
College stats
College GPA 3.1
I know it’s bad. But I want to take some summer classes to raise it, take the next two semesters off and then apply for C.S for Fall of 2019. I am already over 60 credits(with dual enrollment) and that’s why I want to take the year off, plus, I also have to take care of my sick mom.
You can be harsh because I too am having some doubt.
Where are you currently attending? Are you at a community college? What state are you a resident of?
You college GPA and your high school GPA are low for Cornell. Your 30 ACT is sort of okay for Cornell, but probably not enough to make up for your GPA. If you were to go to Cornell, it is going to be a LOT more difficult than high school.
There are a lot of universities with very strong CS programs. You could do very well with a degree in CS from UMass Amherst, some of the SUNY’s, or any of a great many other schools.
Not UF. It’s FSCJ, I did dual enrollment with them and they offered me a free scholarship after graduation, so I took it. I don’t really have a budget. I work part-time, but I use all of it on school books and supplies.
Highly unlikely. Your HS stats are low for Cornell. Your CC GPA is low for Cornell. If you want to put in an application then by all means go ahead, but I’d strongly suggest you focus most of your time and energy on schools that match your academic record.
