I applied as a photography and media major for Fall 2018 in CalArts and currently waiting for my decision letter.
I attended National Portfolio Day after I submitted my application in last January. Since I started to think about applying to Art schools at the end of last year so until that point I literally had no idea about National Portfolio Day.
At the portfolio day, the admission officer looked at my pictures and she remembered many of them and told me that she had already seen my work. Then she gave me critiques and her contact information. She did say some of my pictures are not interesting enough especially fashion photography, but she did also mention many of my pictures are very strong and she did enjoy looking at them.
I know a lot of you guys who also applied are patiently waiting for the decision letters, but if you guys could tell me whether if I even have a little bit of chances of getting in there from my meeting with them, that would kind of help me see where I might go.
Since i am applying as an international student, my English isn’t that good so I really don’t want it to drag me down and that just giving me more anxiety of not getting in.
It would be very helpful for me if you guys could comment something! thank you.
