<p>Currently I am a high school junior with one marking period left to bring up my GPA. I currently have a 75 average or a 2.0 GPA. Yes I KNOW THIS IS TERRIBLE PLEASE DON’T RUB IT IN! There are reasons behind this such as the fact that through the first half of junior year I was constantly sick and it was hard to get to school since I live in a different borough! The first two years of high school I was tormented by other high schoolers because I was born without my left hand and I was also dealing with a mentally and emotionally abusive relationship. At this point I am much better and trust that there’s nothing wrong with me mentally, but those are the factors that made it hard for me to focus in school and excel. In addition to that, I had two teachers who graded you on whether they liked you or not contributing to a poor GPA. However, I have a 1300 on the SAT, I took 4 years of english (and I am in english honors and AP english) 4 years of history/social studies, 3 years of math (algebra 1, algebra 2/Trig, geometry), 3 years of science (chemistry, earth science, biology/living environment); I have wonderful regents scores, lists of extracurricular/volunteer/work history, awesome recommendations and college resume. What are my chances?</p>

<p>Oh yeah, there are plenty of colleges who would accept you. Maybe not Harvard Ivy League Schools but there are some pretty good schools I know about!</p>
<p>Just to name a few:
Kent State University in Kent, Ohio- That’s where I’m planning on going. It’s basically a school where smart kids who slacked off go, they have great programs and all, they just aren’t all “prestigious” and what not. You’ll get a top-quality education without the ego! Check them out
Olivet Nazerene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois- Many of my cousins went there and LOVED it, it’s also a great school, just isn’t “prestigious”
Illinois State University- My sister’s alma mater. Another great school.</p>
