<p>I am currently a freshman in high school, but the courses I take are comparable to those of the average college freshman. I currently have a 4.0 GPA unweighted and a 4.9 weighted, with all International Baccalaureate classes. I do tons of extracurriculars(Ballet 6x a week, forensics, musical theatre, elite choir, SADD, newspaper and drama club) and volunteer work. I also have published writing. I am looking to major in astrophysics/astronomy with a minor in religious studies. I also speak French, Spanish and English. I am also 13 years old, and will be 17 in my freshman year of college as I skipped a grade. I really want to get into Harvard. It has been my dream ever since I was very young.
What are my chances?</p>

<p>Middle school awards or honors can’t be included on your application. Also, please don’t post chance threads so early on in your high school career. We still haven’t seen your standardized test scores (SAT/ACT/IB/AP), and we have no idea what your rank in class is. You also might want to focus your extracurriculars a bit more, as Harvard’s application (it uses the CommonApp) only has room for 7 extracurriculars. This will allow you to stand out in the areas you are particularly good at.</p>
<p>I don’t think age will be that big of a tipping factor either. There are actually plenty of people who have skipped grades or started school early, myself included. I skipped 4th grade and will be graduating from high school at the age of 16, and I’m sure there are people even younger than that.</p>

<p>it’s a bit early to be posting chance me, but dont get discouraged. but you seem very bright, keep your work up and remember to have a little fun along the way. also, harvard isnt the only road to a great life.</p>
<p>Hey, I’m in the same position, HS freshman who wants to go to Harvard eventually.
I think all we can do is work our butts off to get there. We’ve got time ahead of us (three years, almost, until it’s time to start applying), something I’d bet a lot of juniors/seniors wish they had. I’m certainly going to make the most of it.</p>
